Just paste the picture's URL between [IMG*](picture url goes here)[/IMG*] without the asterisks, or parenthesis. You can also just press the little button to the right of the big red circular button above the smilies on the left when you're making a post. It will say "insert image" when your mouse goes over it without clicking. Just click on that, and it'll make the brackets for you if you don't feel like doing them manually.

OR if you want to upload a jpg or png that on your pc (I wonder if I could write an entire post in acronyms>) - when you  post go to "Additional Options" browse for the pic - and click.

PS: You're not lame - all forums work differently.

did u try surrounding it with img tags?  also, the image must be no larger than 700x200.

for some reason,     <<< - the image code isnt working, when I try to affix it to my sig area, I get this;

"The following errors occurred when trying to save your profile:
The following BBC is not allowed within your signature: abbr, acronym, anchor, b, bdo, black, blue, br, code, email, flash, ftp, glow, green, html, hr, i, iurl, li, list, ltr, me, move, nobbc, php, pre, quote, red, rtl, s, shadow, sub, sup, table, td, time, tr, tt, u, white."

Confirmed not working - I even changed the original link into tinyurl code, so that none of the banned "letters/words" could possibly appear yet I also received the same error message.

ok, so this signature image issue is apparently a permissions issue.  HAL... see if you can now do so.

I tried it and not working... I put this in my sig:

Code: [Select]
[img]http://tinyurl.com/2vpop75[/img]
This is just Stevenqbosell's link...

The BBS will not consider a URL as an image URL unless it ends with an image file extension.  Sometimes you can trick the BBS by throwing a dummy parameter on the end of the URL, something like http://tinyurl.com/2vpop75?dummy=jpg, but in this case Tiny URL gets confused.

Then again, for this purpose there's absolutely no reason to shorten the URL.

Then again, for this purpose there's absolutely no reason to shorten the URL.

Actually there is (a reason)... the sig component only allows 500 total characters, and I've had to resort to shortening my links with tinyurl to include what I wanted - in fact, I cannot include what I want, as I only have a few characters left to work with... when using more complex linkage nomenclature, it really eats up your character limit, and actually clutters the sig with unnecessary characters.

For example, rather than having the entire link appear in a sig (currently the only way it's allowed) I rather be able to have something like:

Click HERE to get the mp3.

Which looks like this when coded:

Code: [Select]
[color=orange]Click: [url=http://rapidshare.com/files/406086991/Ian.Punnett.Drunk.mp3][b][color=yellow][u]HERE[/u][/color][/b][/url] to get the mp3.[/color]
Which really eats up the characters, but looks so much more simple and elegant in a sig...
