TONIGHT: A Special Drinking Game
« on: October 31, 2008, 03:17:16 PM »

"Portals" "Angels" and "Demons" are too easy - and there is the issue of alcohol poisoning.   So how about this:

Anyone who has the stomach to listen to Gorge mangle Ghost to Ghost tonight - take a shot every time he says "I hate clowns" or any variation thereof.

I think I'll join in with the drinking game and post here if anyone else will be up tonight. I've had such a rough week, that the prospect of a drink sounds good right about now. I think I have Baileys and Kahlua on hand. I have a ton of work to do by tomorrow morning, and Friday snuck up on me.

Ahh.....how I miss the days when I used to have a life. A Halloween that fell on a Friday, of all days, would be the perfect night to go to some costume party or an event at one of the Irish bars. Not having to get up early on a Saturday would be an extra perk. These days, all I do is work, work, work.  :(

I know the feeling -- in my case it's a matter of WANTING, very badly, to do a number of things I didn't do when I was younger.  In fact -- I'm about to be offered (you know how sometimes you can tell?) yet ANOTHER part time web development job.  I don't feel like I can say "no" for a number of reasons.
  • My current boss hooked me up for this knowing I needed $ - and went out of her way to do so.
  • This guy is also part of the U crowd - small world and all that jazz
  • Unlike my current boss (whom I would still be working for) HE is a web developer himself - much more skilled that I - but needs someone to keep up with updates and content management he doesn't have time for.  There is so much I could learn from him.
  • He's also a photographer (I did tell you all about the grand I spent on digital photography equipment only to have the class canceled at the last moment, right?) and a GOOD one.
  • I happen to know he has a slim budget.  I imagine I could play the "damn you're good - please be my mentor/tutor when you have the time" card to good effect.  I'd learn more from him than any classes available- AND perhaps get him to sponsor an independent study for the grad program.
I wish I only needed to sleep once or twice a week!

Yeah, you can't pass that up. I never say no to work, either--no matter how swamped I am. With me, it's all a matter of getting organized. If I could structure my time differently and follow a strict schedule and focus more, I know I could get more work done in the same amount of time.
