last night, nabila and i saw the devil inside.
review: piece of shit.
it was completely not scary, the dialog and acting were awful, and i'm tired of movies filmed to look as though they're real life (blair witch, paranormal activity, etc.). i remember seeing the preview a couple weeks ago, and the most "interesting" parts of the movie were ALL in the preview. when the highlights of a film can all fit into a trailer, you know you're in trouble. when the movie ended, a collective moan reverberated throughout the packed theater. i've never been surrounded by so much visceral disappointment in my life. perhaps if i'd been standing on the grassy knoll in 1963, i might have encountered a comparable level of disappointment. who knows. otherwise, i've never seen anything like it.
the most entertaining part of the film was toward the beginning when someone in the back row spilled their candy onto the floor. it just streamed out, slowly, until it sounded like the package was empty. the whole theater started laughing at this unknown person. yeah, that was pretty entertaining. otherwise, i'd rather have undergone penile surgery.
