Ok. I'll admit it
« on: August 16, 2008, 07:50:42 PM »
Let me start off by saying that I am a relatively new listener. I've been listening for 2 years, since George took over. I have researched this show and have a streamlink account because I dig the show. But since I've been podcasting, I've been noticing something that I was missing when I would only listen in my half sleep/awake state. That revelation is that yes, indeed, George Noory stinks.

I think he's simply putting on an act. A bit Ali G if you ask me. That is, he acts ridiculous and silly to make the guests and callers feel comfortable enough to do the same. Most of them are smart however, and do not.

I noticed that recently, he had a guest on about the risk of overpopulation in America. As he was going to break, George goes, "Imagine what it would be like if there were a hundred more people in American in the next 20 years." Maybe he's not getting enough rest? This is an important show and George should be more careful and at LEAST correct himself.

It's getting aggravating because I want people to take the show and the topics seriously. George is making that tough.

I think his new pet research project, the one about Aspartame being legalized, is something to look forward to. It's sure to be full of the usual George Comedy.

Hey, Frys, welcome aboard. Aspartame, or Nutrasweet is legal and has been for many, many years. It's what most diet sodas are sweetened with. It's also in gum and a lot of other products.  Why is George jumping on board now? After the fact? That's so typical of him.

I loved the replay for the last hour of Friday night, where the second caller was JC accusing Noory of slurring his speech because he's an alcoholic.

Actually - oddly enough, my mom is allergic or something to aspartame(sp?). It makes her heart go nuts. Palpitations and the like. I don't like it much either.

Anyways, welcome aboard, mate.

Not unusual.  In fact, there is a waring on the label of any product that uses this about some people inability to metabolize the amino acid this stuff is made from. But if THAT were her problem - she's have more dietary restrictions than aspartame.

There are all kinds of stories, most having to do with mood and are sever headaches, about aspartame side effects. Then, there are the lab people who say it CAN'T BE because blah blah blah . . .

Bullshit.

In a case like this, I'll take my personal experience (for me, mind you, not as a general rule for others) over "science" any day.

Welcome!  If you would like to check out what C2C was like in the 'good ole days' when Art Bell hosted full time be sure to check out this thread: http://www.ufoship.com/page.php?16  Look for the George Noory Sucks station in the streamer program, and you are ready to go.

At first I felt bad, but not anymore. Something is wrong with this man. After listening to Art Bell, I'm kind of angry. How can he stand this sh*T!?!?!

And yes, Louizoot, I heard that call. It was hilarious. George was defending his speech problem by making a joke about having a fork tongue. Actually, he got really defensive and said "I was born with a defect." He said it with lots anger. Bla bla bla. What the F?! I do not listen or pay for stream link to hear about the guy's tongue. He plugs Jordan Maxwell a bit much recently too.

I really enjoy the Somewhere in Time part of stream link. Thanks for that link on ufoship, Slipstream.

About the Aspartame, yes, George has some grand scheme to expose how Aspartame was legalized by the Reagan administration. Bla bla bla. He thinks he's Fox Mulder? Eat my shorts George.

I never knew until recently that George has/had a cleft palate(?sp). I have called him on some mispronunciations, but don't like to.  When it's so boring there's nothing else to write about, sometimes it's all that is there. But I don't like it. It's a cheap(see: cheesy) victory. "It's a garbage win Reggie and you know it!"

I think you're right. It has been incredibly boring. The only latest show that really kept my attention was heidi hollis and not because of her but rather the subject. Her voice is the worst.

I don't think Snoory was born with a *cleft palate* or a *forked tongue*. I think he's an unintelligent asshole who made that up to take some of the heat off of all his mispronunciations and verbal gaffes. Noory is a KNOWN liar and has been caught in lies more than once. I would bet dollars to donuts that he made that whole story up out of whole cloth.

I actually found out unintentionally.  I was looking for pictures(forget what the specific term was) and saw one of a shaved Noory with a clean-shaven(?) face. I'm 97.637% positive that it showed a hairlip.

OK, the term "a shaved Noory" conjures up all sorts of nasty images in my head.  :o
(ugh...)

And is there a link to a stashless Noory? I need to see this for myself.

That's why I crossed it out, but still left it visible - for those with the swift imaginations. MWAH-HA-HA-HA-HA!

I'll look for the pic. I can't find it off hand.  He may not be totally cleanshaven, but you can definitely see it in the picture I'm talking about.

Honestly?  i think the shape of his mouth and the stash are evidence enough.  Some people remain handsome no matter what - and the surgery they do now is nothing short of amazing - but not so when George was a child. Which also may account for his hyper-sensitivity.

And, as evidence of the marvels of modern surgery and the fact that even people with obvious harelips can be beautiful, may I present my favorite example:  Joaquin Phoenix -- Yeah yeah - other than the harelip problem - this guys got amazing genes too,  I think he's a stunner!

In some ways - that mouth has become a "trade mark" of his.  If he ever grows a stash (though I don't have a thing against them on GP) I may have to stalk him with a razor.

the first movie i recall seeing phoenix in was signs with mel gibson.  i enjoyed that movie, and i enjoyed his performance.  however, each succeeding shamalan movie has been worse than the one before.  thus, i would advise that phoenix stay away from shamalamadingdong if he wants to preserve his career over the long haul.  shamalamaramalamadingdong is today just a horrid director who is making turd in my drink after turd in my drink.

i'm sure phoenix will stumble upon this advice, as we are one of the more credible and relevant websites in 2008.

Art bell should sell best of CDs. I've caught some of his stuff on youtube and aside from making me angry, I really think I'd pay for some old shows.

Have you seen The Happening? It's godawful. At first it seems interesting and then it just goes into complete "silly unicorn rainbow fart" land.

I did like a couple of his earlier films, but "The Village", 'Lady in the Water", and this last one all made me feel like taking a nap halfway through....if not a quarter.

Hare lip Hare lip Hare lip!

i was in hiding so that i could leave my post count at 666 for as long as possible.  however, my discovery that i've repeatedly misspelled "harelip" has brought about such a degree of shame and embarrassment, i've been forced out of seclusion.

i would now like to take this moment to extend my most sincere apologies to those to have believed in me for so many years.  i know this is not the type of behavior you expect from a leader, and i am ashamed to think some of you might now believe that faith has been misplaced.  when i recognized my mistake, i told my wife that i had misspelled harelip, and i asked for her forgiveness.  although i was honest in every painful detail with my family, i did not admit it publicly. when a supermarket tabloid told a version of the story, i used the fact that the story contained many falsities to deny it. however, being 99 percent honest is no longer enough.  if you want to beat me up, feel free.  you cannot beat me up more than i have already beaten up myself. i have been stripped bare and will now work with everything i have to help my family and others who need my help.  i now consider this matter to be a private one for discussion among my family, our spiritual advisers, and me.  thank you.

I liked both of those.  Saw the first one cuz a friends daughter had been an extra (but she ended up on the cutting room floor dammit) and the "Lady" one was a gift from my son.
