According to Ian's guest Harry Shearer, 2009 will see the release of a new Spinal Tap album and a concurrent 25th anniversary reunion tour.
That's the best news I've heard on CTC in months.
I only wish Shearer could have stayed on, in the character of Derek Smalls, as a roundtable guest during the second guest's appearance as they discussed cannibalism:
"Yes. There was an unfortunate event with Spinal Tap, I believe we were outside of Lodi, and we.... I can't believe I'm revealing this ON AIR ... we ... we ate the drummer. We don't talk about it. We were stranded in the middle of nowhere with no food with our agent. In fact, it was the agent's idea we dispose of the drummer stating that drummers are so easily replaced without compromising the frontmen. The band became sick and was barely able to go back for seconds. Nigel had a little breakdown. You know Nigel. He has the innocence of a child. Well, he kept proclaiming 'I want the drumstick! I want the drumstick!' It was a difficult time for all of us."
