CoastGab Terms of Service
MV:
Here are the CoastGab Terms of Service:
Modified 8 May, 2013.
Welcome to CoastGab! We're very thankful you've chosen to join our community. The following Terms of Service have been designed by our users and are intended to encourage an environment of openness and fairness. Once you've read these TOS, we'd appreciate any feedback you're willing to offer.
Disclaimer: All messages express the views of the author, and CoastGab.com will not be held responsible for the content of any message.
Administrator Contact: Inquiries should be directed to admin@CoastGab.com.
Registration: In rare instances, the account information of newly registered users might be submitted for review as an anti-spam measure. If your account is not approved, please contact the forum administrator. Include your username. The address is admin@coastgab.com. The issue will be addressed promptly.
Posting Links: Linking to other websites is allowed and encouraged. However, it's best if you submit a few posts before linking. If you include a link in your first post, you might be mistakenly flagged as a spammer. Do not link to illegal content or pornography.
Quoting Text From Other Websites: It's okay to quote a few sentences from another forum or website. However, if the quoted text will extend beyond a few sentences, you should instead provide a direct link to the website.
Flaming: Flaming is defined as a hostile and insulting interaction between users. Please use common sense and keep the sensibilities of others in mind when posting. Also, do not use this site to flame the users of other message boards.
Topic Hijacking: Our conversations frequently go off track, and that's fine. However, we ask that you not deliberately and repeatedly derail threads.
Trolling: Trolling is when one submits a post for the explicit purpose of angering or baiting others. Please don't engage in this behavior. If it's believed a user is repeatedly and deliberately trolling the community, the user's account will be deactivated.
Similar Threads and Duplicate Posts: Please do not create a new thread if an existing thread already addresses the same subject. Use CoastGab's search feature to make that determination. Also, please do not submit a duplicate post in multiple threads. Similar threads will be merged and duplicate posts deleted.
Revealing Personal Information: Most users prefer to remain anonymous when using a forum. That is their right. Do not publish the personal information of another CoastGab user if that information has not already been made public by that user on this forum. Forbidden personal information includes (but isn't limited to) physical addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, photos, first or last names, URLs, and IP addresses. If a user violates this rule, it will be considered stalking/harassment and will result in immediate account deactivation. We encourage victims of stalking or harassment to contact the forum administrator immediately.
Libel/Defamation: You agree that you will not post any defamatory or libelous material about any person, living or dead. CoastGab is not responsible for the content of your posts, but you are.
Posting Copyrighted Material: CoastGab does not and will not monitor users for copyright compliance. Legal precedent establishes it is not CoastGab's responsibility to do so. The content owner shoulders that burden. CoastGab will remove material only when the appropriate party formally requests, with specificity, that we do so.
Forum Display Names/Avatars/Profile: Please use common sense when choosing a display name and avatar. The rules for posts and images should serve as a guide.
Unwelcome Content: Please do not post any photo depicting pornographic acts. Do not post illegal material, death photos, or other similarly offensive material.
Impersonation: Do not impersonate another person or user. Do not duplicate or approximate another forum member's display name. If you share the same avatar as another user, please resolve this by changing your avatar.
Multiple Accounts: Forum members are allowed only one user account. If the system detects you have created a second account and you believe this to be in error, please notify an administrator.
Moderation/Moderators: This is a very loosely moderated forum. Moderation decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and are always as fair as possible. If you disagree with a moderation decision, please direct your inquiries privately to the forum administrator and you'll be provided an explanation.
Moderation Exception: The boards "Politics" and "Talk Radio/Podcasts" are unmoderated. Please do not carry political disputes beyond these boards or allow political disagreements with others to affect how you interact with them elsewhere.
Reporting Posts: When a post violates these guidelines, please click the "report to moderator" link.
General Harm Provision: These forum rules are not and can not be designed to cover every scenario. If a user's participation seems generally harmful to the forum, the user's account will be disabled.
Forfeiture of Intellectual Property Rights: All user posts immediately become the property of CoastGab.com. When an original work is posted by a user who creates and/or owns said work, it is agreed CoastGab.com has permission to use said work for any purpose for any length of time. To clarify: If a user creates a work (text, image, audio, etc.), posts it, and then later demands it be removed from the forum, the request will be denied.
IP Logging: The IP addresses of all users are automatically and permanently logged by the forum software.
Account Deletion: The deletion of user accounts is not allowed. If you would like to end your CoastGab membership, we ask that you simply discontinue your use of the forum.
Message Deletion/Modification: Users have one hour to delete or modify a new post. When a post exceeds the one hour grace period, it may no longer be deleted or modified.
TOS Changes: CoastGab reserves the right to arbitrarily change these Terms of Service at any time. We offer no guarantee you will be notified of changes to the TOS.
Agreement: By registering, you agree to abide by these TOS (Terms of Service).

i've increased the "courtesy edit wait time" to 30 minutes. that means you can edit a new post for up to 30 minutes after it's submitted. the limit was originally set to 5 minutes.
WOTR:
Wow- the first time that I have actually read the TOS (how bored am I tonight you ask?) and I find that my biggest wish has been granted. When I first read the '' 30 minute'' edit rule I thought it was just a mistake. Thanks for fixing the edit time...
Please remove this post (see how well I pay attention.) ::)
