I can tell you exactly what about that does not "seem right."  It would be the equivalent of putting a preschool student in charge of teaching advance physics in university.

I think this is spot on. It says something that Art has had less and less to do with C2C. (He does nothing live now, does he?) This tells me he's not happy with the alma mater. Yes, it could be nothing more than that after 40 years he never wants to see another microphone. Some folks are like that, although my gut tells me that's not Art.

IMO it's about his dissatisfaction with C2C and Premiere. Could be it's about money he feels he's owed. Or it could just be Art's way of saying, "Coasttocoast? There is no Coasttocoast. It's dead." Besides, if his contract with Premiere calls for ongoing consultant fees, he might be required to never criticize it. What better way to stay eligible for your annual consultant fee and to also get across that you're not happy about the show than by saying absolutely nothing about it?

it's not hard to see why someone would feel this way, but you have to also consider the fact that ramona was a smoker herself.

You really need to jump to the 126 page "Art Bell" thread on the forum.  Somewhere around page 120 or 121 Art makes two short posts to update people on his plans, why he hasn't started a new broadcast and a few other tidbits that were interesting.  He doesn't seem to care too much for the direction the show is heading, but does say that it is the hosts right to take it where they want...

No doubt.  With the sheer volume of available material on "suckage" I would have expected well over 10 000 pages by now.  We have all been slacking for too long...

Art knows by now George sucks, that he's dumb and lazy, isn't interested, isn't prepared, that the 'nice guy' routine is just schtick, that George is actually a jerk, on and on. 
 
Art either thought it would be a good idea to put an idiot with zero interviewing skills into his chair in case he wanted to return yet again, or he feels duped by shabby George who claimed then and claims now to be interested, a hard worker, a life long investigator, truth seeker, etc, when he isn't any of those things, or Art really had no say in his replacement and watched along with the rest of us in horror as George Noory dismantled the show with distain.
 
Now there's a question for Art Bell.  It may have taken him awhile to realize how bad it was - I don't think Art listened to the show when he took a day or two off and had a fill in.  He even had Geroge Noory introduce him at his Radio Hall of Fame induction, so he must not have completely loathed him at that point.

Noory sold out to the business aspect of the show.
I truly believe that Noory "could" have done a great job as he did when filling in for Art. He was bowled over by the losers in Premier's accounting dept and that ruined the show.
No one in Premier's upper management has a clue of what it takes to put magic on the air. They are blinded by the bright lights of LA and smog.

If Noory would have been given the reins, the same freedom Art demanded, open lines, no screen, a High Desert to broadcast from...lol he would have been ok.

Even then, it still would not have been magic, it would have been just Ok.

Art can never be replaced.
Every show Art did was like a chapter in a book you just can't put down.
Once Premier and Noory started writing chapters it became a different book.

I truly believe George has an army of people enabling him and standing by ready to make excuses for him.  What I don't quite get is why.
 
I'm thinking it isn't the green eyeshade types that cause George to daydream instead of listening to the guests, it's not the bean counters forcing George to show up unprepared or make stupid comments.  The accounting department isn't writing up his lame, always the same, boring cue cards to read, or screening his calls so only the worst callers get through.  The number crunchers aren't the ones finding and forwarding stories of tortured kids and animals George delights in reading during the 'news' segment, or getting only bottom of the barrel guests .  No, George does all this all on his own, with an assist from his bloated staff.  His uncanny knack for this and the rest of it, like knowing just when to interrupt to completly ruin a segment, is all George Noory.
 
Given the awfulness of the show, the phony 'psychics' and medical advice, the dumb economic and political commentary, to me it seems like no one at PremRat even listens to the show, cares, or provides any guidance at all.  The show in it's current form IS George Noory.

I was unaware of Ramona smoked. No one's perfect but that's kind of a dumb thing to do... Thank you for your welcome. I hope to post now and then, but mainly I don't want that bald-guy avatar.  I hope newbees are given a chance to post one before that is inflicted on us...! With all respect-- are you kidding??  Does anyone think Noory wants open lines and no screening??
He sees those as career insurance; as life-support systems.   He'd rather have 20 million people think him a boring scripted dolt than ever once candidly prove that he's a live anything.

Umm, lunch time! but I reserve the right to surf the net a bit at the same time, watching for webbot hits.  There are weird topics that entertain others but that don't interest me, among them Roswell NM (odd as I live in NM), mel's hole (which has several unsavory connotations), bigfoot, cryptozology, much of anything to do with the sea (I live in the desert for a reason), and anything else that strikes me as being unreasonable.  Oh, and anything that invites religious interpretation turns me right off.  Hmm, GN covers a lot of that when he covers anything weird at all (including is own rear end), another reason not to listen to him but stick to Knapp or even Strieber.

Can't say I hate the man, but he wore out his welcome with me years ago.  It was one thing to hear his nutty but intriguing/entertaining Mars and Moon theories, but he just kept concocting new ones to suit the science news of the day, too transparent and forced.  'Credible but unproven' became simply 'incredible'.  Not to mention his I-know-simply-everything manner. Like Ed "Never right" Dames, Hoagland should be cut loose as a regular.  C2C producers need to plow new ground; there lots of new stuff but we just get the same old same old.

IIRC, Dames was going to Hawaii to survive the solar "kill shot", but I think it's more likely that he wants a lot of ocean between himself and all the suckers who paid big bucks to learn remote viewing at his seminars.

So tonight I learned all about how higher fuel prices are going to drive up food costs.  I know it's true cuz Noorey had a food expert on to talk about it.

When he says "Be Safe" to close after trying his level best to stir up fear all night. 

You can tell there was a PowerPoint slide during some steering committee meeting that said to keep the audience on edge by saying, "Something's going to happen"  and "You never know" all the time.

    Steven Bassett on (yawn) disclosure, then Linda Moulton Howe, when faced with the mystery of the weird sounds people are hearing around the world, goes out and talks to witnesses, ask relevant questions, and generally attempts to put together a serious report on the phenomenon. Ah, but Noory shall not be deterred, and during the last hour goaded Mrs. Howe into delving into rank speculation. Could it be biblical? A false flag? "Some sort of death ray that might be tested on us?" Huh? Who is Noory playing to here? Exactly how many six year olds are listening to the show in the dead of night? Yeah, take tomorrow off, George. You really sucked this week.
