I am new to this site and am absolutely thrilled to have found it. I thought perhaps I was the only one who wanted to pull my hair out due
to GN's lack of interviewing skills and his apparent inability to correct himself when he messes up a word. I mean, we're all guilty of botching up
a word while speaking, but if you do, don't you normally correct yourself before continuing on? Not George. He's either oblivious to the error or
thinks his audience is not worth the correction, which is just plain rude.
Then there are the times when a caller is telling an interesting story, rather than asking a logical question, he will come up with some
impertinent question, or even worse, just blurts out some dismissive comment and hangs up on them before getting more details which
I would like to hear.
I am also sick and tired of hearing of his travel between St. Louis and Los Angeles. Who the f*** cares? Why does he think that we
are interested in his travel schedule? Does he think that we're all impressed by this? Is he trying to convey that he is so indespensable
that the broadcasting company will accommodate him wherever he goes?
I absolutely cringe when callers praise GN and go on and on about what a wonderful host he is and he acts all humble. All I can say
is that these people have very low expectations and a high tolerance for mediocre broadcasting/interviewing skills. I sometimes wonder
if the call screener asks the callers to embellish their accolades.
I finally got smart and bought one of those CC Witness radios so that I can fast forward through the long commercial breaks and through
George's incoherent ramblings and only listen to what I consider to be interesting and informative (which seems to be less and less to
tell you the truth).
I hope that someday soon GN will be replaced by either George Knapp or Ian. At times I feel that a trained chimp would be an improvement.
It is beyond me why his contract continues to be renewed year after year.
