Thanks for that. I do wish it was a peer reviewed science journal and not a semi-tabloid like the NYT, but that's a good start. What I was actually referring to, though, was the actual process of oil being produced inside the earth. I would like to see a theory of "this is how the oil is actually being manufactured." I'm honestly curious about how this is thought to happen. This article just suggests that oil is a fossil fuel seeping up from larger deep reservoirs to fill those that are drained.

I am listening to Coast right now. I've just always believed that a psychic octopus is part of a cycle. Aaaabsolutely.

Yikes. The question was idiotic enough, but what's with the word "staunch"? Incredible. I've noticed he'll sometimes start off asking a semi-reasonable question and then he'll completely sabotage it. I recall an interview he did with some chupacabra expert and he asked, "if a chupacabra sees you, will he attack you and tear you up...all the time?" The question can not be answered with "all the time" thrown in. This is a tactic George employs to keep his guest off balance and confused.

to me, this seems most likely.

i would assume those deep reservoirs to be just as pressurized (or even more so) as the one leaking in the gulf, pushing oil into those smaller reservoirs that we drain. it's difficult for me to subscribe to the idea that there's a high speed factory deep in the earth where oil is being churned out in unlimited quantities. what would be the chemical process for this? the rate at which it would have to be produced under ground (to match our demand) would seem to suggest it's simply made of earth. if abiotic oil is real, was it also being rapidly produced during those millions of years when we weren't extracting oil from the ground? or was the process dormant until we started extracting it? too many questions, too few answers. if abiotic oil is real, how can we assume it is produced quickly enough to keep up with global consumption? i just don't see where the evidence for any of this exists.

however, i DO think there's far more oil available out there than we know. a vast swath of it is inaccessible because of douchy environmental laws enacted by dreamy eyed idealists who think alternative energies will become the norm simply by denying humanity access to what we currently are dependent on. it doesn't, and can't, work that way.

i blame the oil leak on the environmental cabal within our government. perhaps if we weren't forcing oil companies to drill in mile deep water in the ocean, they could turn their attention toward land drilling where the risks apparently aren't so great.

glad to join and have found this. Do you make a living off of this? So awesome to find a resource to listen to real C2C episodes for a change. Snoory has taken his toll on me and I only check once a night to be sure Art isn't back on... then go back to coastgab to listen again.

Found the 6/25/10 show on youtube which im listening to again now because I can't sleep but tomorrow I'll be back to the gab.

Going off on a quick tangent, did anyone catch the Sylvia Browne incident about the Miners who were trapped? It happened a few years ago live on Coast. She said that she knew they would indeed be found. Although she didn't say they'd be found "alive" explicitly, if you listen to 'how' she said it, you'll agree that she meant "alive." Of course this was AFTER the breaking news had come in that they were found.
At any rate, when the news came in a few minutes later that all were dead but one, she outlined the fact that she hadn't said they'd be found "alive," but just "found."

Noory actually defended her on this point for quite awhile before finally giving in to callers/fastblasts that were calling her on her bullshit.

Back to Van Praagh... Who the hell in this day and age can actually consume the bullshit from people like he and Sylvia? I mean come on, it's already been demostrated by psychologists that you can bullshit your way into sounding like an authentic psychic. In fact, they probably do a BETTER job than the charlatans like Van Praagh.

For instance, Praagh actually began a conversation with a caller asking him if he worked in a garden. The caller said no. Then Praagh asked if there was a garden near him....again the reply was no. Then Praagh tried to link the garden to his mother or someone else in the family. He said that person was standing in a 'garden' now. (can't remember the exact specifics, only paraphrasing here).
At this point, the guy agreed that his mother liked to garden (but didn't seem impressed by Praagh, thankfully).

Alright then, what are the odds that some senior woman who has passed on was fond of gardening? Pretty damn high. If you let these guys continue long enough, they will ask YOU more questions than you do of them, and eventually extract enough information to piece together some decent (albeit GENERAL) information that makes the person feel as if they are indeed psychic and viewing the other plane of existence or whatever.

It's perfectly fitting that Noory has this jerk on as the new resident psychic medium.

Last night's (7/8/10) show had to be one of the worst radio broadcasts I have ever heard.
Another excursion into the absurd. It was mesmerizing in its awfulness.
Two idiots talking about addictions and neither knowing, or bothering to investigate, what addiction really means.
You know right off when a guest is trying to sell a book when they say "That's a great question, George".
Here's some highlights:
George likened alcoholics' problems to that of pedophiles'.
All that alcoholics, pedophiles, addicts and video game addicts have to do is control their problem.
Portland, Oregon, is not west of the Rockies.
George bought an umbrella for a homeless drunk, and then was disgruntled when that person asked for twenty bucks.
It might be interesting and there should be a study done to see if alcoholics might be able to drink just one glass of wine, and then stop drinking.
And.....hold your breath for this one....George is addicted to replacing burnt out light bulbs.

i heard this broadcast. in an all night session of painting, baseboard removal, and general suffering in the course of opening a new office, i heard george noory's broadcast for the first time in 4 years. how anybody can defend this show or the man hosting it is a wonder to me. robey... you are spot on, bro. tonight's show sucked. i can't believe multiple hours were devoted to such a bland, uninteresting, predictable guest who really brought nothing to the table. if i'd been conducting that interview, i'd probably have ended it after the first hour. just atrocious.

And he continues by saying he and his wife are on the outs, because his wife keeps telling him he is playing video games too long and it is ruining their marriage. He says he got really pissed when she got on him and how playing this damn game is all he thought about, how it consumed his whole life.

Yeah, I'm listening to the interview with Rick Collingwood now.

Too funny! He was acting as a receptor and channeling the universal consciousness because he has tinnitus.

It sounds more like he swallowed an Ambien. You can get rip roaring crazy when you take those.
