I guess if the believer concedes that speciation and mutation over time exists, which they obviously do, it presents a conundrum. Bear in mind, though, that I've been drinking since 5pm.

It's the worst news I've heard recently ... and the media is so glib in their delivery of the phrase "Twenty- twenty-four," as if their insistent suckling on the teat of alliteration excuses the insanity of what they are reporting. The reports I've seen state "twenty-twenty-four" as a closing remark, almost an afterthought instead of mentioning it up front.
Really? 2024?
President Wham-O had the nerve to state he is concerned about the various "costs" of the ongoing "war" in Afghanistan.
What's the invoice tally going to be in 2024 with "thousands" of "special forces" remaining despite the "pull out" in 2014?
Note to young people: Forget attending college, take a guaranteed shortcut to success by enrolling in DeVry's Drone Degree Program and learn drone repair and design, because that's some job security you can count on and as stable as becoming a mortician or opening a crematorium.
Drones create jobs! is the next credo I anticipate for bumper stickers.
"Our plant added 400 jobs last year, Diane, thanks to drones."
Imagine, Afghanistan drone operations until "twenty-twenty-four."

Ben Shockley:
Re Obama's announcement of "10 more years in Afghanistan"--
I'm sure it's never planned this way, but every move like this that disgusts us un-American peacenik types just further proves that most anti-Obama sentiment is nothing but racism. With moves like this, it can't be policy that Obama's detractors disagree with! He gives the military-industrial complex just what it wants: perpetual pseudo-war for perpetual profits. They are the real controllers of the American economy and polity, and so control the right-wing media message. They have no policy basis for opposing Obama (excuse me: for excoriating and heaping contempt on Obama); he ain't hurting their bottom line a bit. Domestically, in some ways he has governed to the right of Nixon! So what else can it be?

I won't clutter this up with nested quotes. From Cam:
the various "costs" of the ongoing "war" in Afghanistan
They can find ways of paying for endless occupation, but the Republicans won't budge on anything like universal health care ~for Americans! I wonder how many right-wingers in this country know that Bush & Co.'s tailor-made new constitution for Iraq included universal health care for Iraqis..?!?
"thousands" of "special forces" remaining despite the "pull out" in 2014
Numbers that high sort of undercuts their special-ness, don't it? Bet yo' las' money that those "special forces" will consist largely of armed civilian "Xe" (ex-Blackwater) employees; their "special-ness" defined primarily de facto by their obscene paychecks and their level of steroid intake.
job security... as stable as becoming a mortician or opening a crematorium
Never, never mention crematoria in the context of current American political trends!

I had the misfortune of hearing 5 minutes of Hannity today...that's 300 seconds too many, but hearing that slimy putz talk about how he worked "a regular job"(roughly 25 years ago) topped off with "if you're in your mid twenties and only making mininum wage there's something wrong with you"
Well, it's that mentality that makes me pray for a Maoist revolution at any cost, just as long as that fucking clown has to scrub a Taco Bell toilet with his tongue.
Oddly, the place where I heard Hannity was a sub shop owned by a Kosovar Muslim. I guess he's been Hannitized. Let "freedom" ring.

The so-called conservatives dominating radio are all getting a little ripe. I'd love to see ideologues replaced with critical thinkers, as long as they are funny and entertaining.
