I would argue that the Republican would be more damaging, real conservative or not, because they're pretty much unanimously still pretending that supply-side economics hasn't been a middle class destroying disaster.

Supply-side economics is a byproduct of high wage manufacturing, and skilled labor being exported over seas.  All those people that used to manufacture things for14-25 dollars an hour with benefits are now working at Best Buy and McDonalds for around minimum wage without benefits.  That is a three fold cut in the income and payroll tax for that individual not to mention lower capital earnings means less money goes to the state in sales tax(if your state has a sales tax).  Then there is the billions of dollars in tax revenue that is lost to undocumented and under the table jobs.  Why do these jobs exist? Because of poor immigration control and a complex tax system that stifles growth and the creation of wealth.  Without lowering taxes on existing businesses the hunger of our federal government would crush business or drive it overseas.  I argue that supply-side economics, rather than causing the destruction of the middle class it is an effect of poor trade, tax and corporate policy on the part of our government.  With the vast majority of this legislation(if you can call it that) being introduced and passed by Liberals in Washington.  The failure to cut taxes on businesses and reduce the size of Government is causing stagflation and extreme loss of confidence in our financial system. An example of this occurring in history is when Nixon refused to cut taxes in the early 70's, we see the second most incompetent president in our history Mr. Jimmy Carter, who continues with terrible fiscal policy.  Finally Ronny Ray Gun gets elected and cuts taxes and our economy sees the longest Bull market in its history 82-00.  Don't mistake me for a Ronald Reagan Fan under his watch we watched a lot of our civil liberties evaporate.

Show me ONE INSTANCE where Rush Limbaugh has ever referred to a Democrat in such hateful language. I dare you.

Maybe if the poster was paid 30 million plus like Rush is, he/she would be more polite.

Rush is reasonably entertaining and occasionally comes up with an important news story that hasn’t been much reported on, but he is bought and paid for.  A total sell out.  Thus despite his claim of loving the Constitution and loving liberty, he hasn’t mentioned the National Defense Authorization Act which will allow the indefinite detention of American citizens without any charges being brought, thus his treatment of Ron Paul, thus his pretending the American economy resembles a Richard Scarry story, etc. etc.  Not surprisingly, he seems fond of Newt.

We can agree to disagree there, AK, as your argument is from a left of center worldview.  I'm more Libertarian than Republican, but would caucus with the latter vs. the Democrats if forced.  My point actually holds equally for those left of center.  If a sitting conservative president was very weak - say GWB in 08 (though the term limits make that not quite the ideal analogy) - I would think that organized liberals would choose someone like Obama (a moderate liberal) over someone like Nader.  Nader may better represent liberalism, but Obama stood a much better chance of knocking the vulnerable conservative out of office.

I know Ron Paul is the darling of Coastgab, but please God, don't force me to choose between Obama and Paul.  No, I'm not Jewish, but I care about Israel and don't like Paul's foreign policy ideas.
Also, please don't go into long-winded diatribes about why Ron Paul is the closest thing to the second coming.  We already know how you all feel.  Never place so much hope and adoration on any individual.  You're placing your power outside of yourselves.
Ron Paul is the best candidate. You don't like him to stop foreign aid to Israel (and any other country for that matter)? Then please explain WHY the US should hand other countries free money, or use US forces to invade countries that Israel doesn't like.

The only Problem I have with Ron Paul is that he is NOT RADICAL ENOUGH about monetary policy. As Bill Still says: The only way to retire the national debt is to totally ban fractional reserve banking and only allow state owned banks to create money.

Private fractional reserve banking amounts to counterfeiting money. You can't lend out money that you dont have and charge interest, so why should privately owned banks be allowed to do so?
Actually the government needs to be banned from borrowing ANY money. The national debt needs to be ZERO.

The failure to cut taxes on businesses and reduce the size of Government is causing stagflation and extreme loss of confidence in our financial system.

Businesses are already enjoying the Bush tax cuts, with generally some of the lowest tax rates since the 50s. Many are paying zero taxes as it is. They've gotten incredibly rich, put their money in hedge funds, laid off workers and moved their factories overseas. We have a clear line of evidence that supply-side doesn't boost economic growth, doesn't create jobs, and increases the deficit. Even proponent Bruce Bartlett says it's time to throw in the towel on it.

What disturbs me about your post is that it is founded on the assumption that big business poses some burden/ weight on society.

I'm voting Obama again even though I'm pretty indifferent and disenfranchised with the Democrats. But I'd much rather have a weak do-nothing administration than the out right evil clusterfuck that was the eight years of Bush Jr. or whatever horror show the Republicans trot out this time. I'd consider Ron Paul but he'll never get nominated. He scares the Republicans just as much if not more than liberals.

It really kind of blows my mind that there's still conservatives out there who identify with the Republican party.

What Obama does isn't any less evil than the satanic Bush family.
You know, he didn't even ask the so called "elected" Government Congress to wage a war against Libya, because being a god-emperer like Pharaoh he felt entitled by the United Nations' decision to destroy that country. After all he got to preside over their "Security Council" - which amounts to trampling over the US constitution once again.

Also, afaik being a total tool of Goldman-Sachs and the rest of these banksters, under Obama they got "bailed out" with Billions, or was it Trillions of Taxpayer money.

And now? He's signing off Legislation that can incarcerate and hold forever without any trial or proof of guilt US citizens and anybody else they want locked away.

Looks like Obama is pretty evil to me, even if he's just the Negro that the rest of the world-elite are laughing about for bowing down to royals like a good uncle Tom.

Big Business poses a weight on society, but of course who's really to blame if the US government for letting them do it - I'm talking about destroying jobs in the USA and give them all to China and India with the excuse "globalisation - nothing you can do about it".

Of course you CAN do something about it.
It's not free market when you move jobs to China, where people are working in slave-factories for pennies, and where the Chinese have to plant safety-nets around their factories, because workers are jumping down from these plants, going for suicide.
Unless you want to become peasant servants, you need to protect your country with import tariffs on such goods. It may sound antiqu-ish, but at least it works in a way.

What disturbs me about your post is that it is founded on the assumption that big business poses some burden/ weight on society.

They're sucking all the money up and not putting it back into the economy. It's one of the reasons why we're in the mess we're in. You give money to poor people, it goes right back into the economy, but the rich put it in hedge funds and spend it overseas. If we don't force them to pay their fare share, we're headed for another depression. It seems like that's what the right-wing wants - to let the whole thing go up in flames so they can gain complete power. Look at the incredibly insane and cynical politics they've been playing since 2010.
