Art's 5 hour shows
« on: November 19, 2011, 02:35:41 AM »
Can anybody tell me what years were there 5 hour shows? I'm talking about 5 hours or original programming not with the repeats from the night before tacked onto the beginning. Cheers in advance for your help.

Art did a regular 5 hour live show starting at 11PM Pacific Time in the 1990s until he retired the first time.
Since it was so late on the east coast many stations there didn't carry the final (fifth) hour though.
When he returned for full time again in early 2001, the show was cut down to 4 hours and started an hour earlier.
When Noory took over in 2003 when Art retired again, the show remained 4hours as it is today.

Those were truly amazing nights.  I lived in the MST at the time.  Art went from 12am till 5am.  I didn't like the changes to the length and time of the show when he came back.  It felt like inflation.
