Hell yes, I've always wondered what shills are pulling in these days. According to my stats I've been on this site for five days.  Shew me the money.....

Ana

You didn't get it? damn... we sent it to LMH via a cow mule... we stuffed the cash in a condom and had the cow swallow it...

No problem. All is forgiven. :)

As you can imagine, as a huge Art fan and now Snoory hater, it was a little bit hurtful to be labeled a Premiere stooge.
hi, jazmunda.  i want to personally apologize to you for the way things started out.  we're certainly not interested in scaring away new members.  on the contrary, new people here are usually afforded far more respect and patience than regulars.

i think we need to be more mindful of the fact that sarcasm and jokes sometimes are lost in type, particularly in the eyes of a new member who has not yet come to understand the context of what we might say.

Glad you thought it funny, it could have gone either way. Had visions you trying to figure out if I highjacked your phone. ..... I can barely type, so no worries.

---------------

Thinking that someone from Premier or C2C would infiltrate this modest message board for any reason is... shall I say, nuts. News flash people - we aren't that great. Even insignificant.

Want to become significant? Then effect change the only way it has ever been made -- amass together as one -- and demand that George Noory be fired. Till then, it's all just talk, talk, talk. .....and just another day at the office for Noory and the minions at C2C and Premier.

Of course, and that's the fun of it.  Truth is, if they were here they wouldn't be emailing people asking for specifics on why (aldous) thinks the show is an abomination.  They would have gotten all they need from CoastGab.

Well, I'm one of the regulars who isn't ready to roll out the red carpet just yet, Jazmunda (if that is your real name).  I need some more info first, so if you could answer me these questions three:

1) Where do you stand on the Smiths?  Pure genius, or best band ever?

2) Are you now, or have you ever been, in possession of Whitley Strieber's reproductive fluids?

3) What is your position on age gap foreign marriages?

Regards,
RCD

Some interesting thoughts here.  I agree his best work was at night, in the high desert. There was an eeriness when you would hear " From the Kingdon of Nye", and then that second bumper, da da, da da, da da.  That is what Snoory lacks, the inability to create a moment.  He is a talking stump.

Anyway, back on the podcasts for a minute.  First, I don't know the visa status of his wife, but if she is not legal she should be.  If she is, and he chooses to stay in Manilla, bless him, we can work with that too.

He does his best work at night.  No doubt.  I can listen to a podcast at 2 am as easy as I can listen to the talking dishtowel on Ambien Insider.  When Art first came back on the air from the Phillipines he mentioned that it is a very mysterious place.  A weekly couple of hours where he unveils some mysteries of Manilla, maybe a guest, would be great.

I know a lot of you are probably up on podcasting but for those who aren't as far as live shows go that is also possible. I have done some podcasting on Talkshoe and at times we had over 200 listeners on one call.  The originator of the cast controls who can talk, and anyone that wants can listen live on talkshoe while those who can't tune in can listen to the podcast later.  Since the originator controls who speaks at a given time he could even do open lines.

Something of Art's magnitude would require better software, Talkshoe tends to start dropping people when network traffic is high, but this is all doable.  Art works at night, we listen when we want, we all happy.  Pipe dream, I know, and too much pain medicine to boot, but without hope all is Noory.

I like that, RK, "all is Noory" - an expression of hopelessness.  Good ideas above if someone wants to run with that ball.  How's the ankle coming along?  You mentioned pain meds-- getting better, 'bout the same or ?

Uhm, if Art is trying to dig up some more money, maybe he can, like, get
a job like the rest of us?

Otherwise, for 9 cents a month, I'd okay with that.

Think of this: the world population is near 7 billion.  If only one tenth
of one percent of that has equipment to hear a 'pod-cast', and then only
one tenth of one percent of that segment pays that 9 cents: Art would be
doing pretty well.  Especially considering the cost of living where he
currently abides compared to the USA, is pathetically low: good money.

20 bucks a month! Give me a break.  An Amah in that region is lucky to
make that in a month of Sundays!

We are really blind to the poverty in the world.

You can get a sexy phone in the USA and pay 10 bucks a month
supposedly for unlimited calls.

That's still too much.

Come on! The sexiest phone on earth is made for pennies.  You are charged
up to a 100,000 per cent mark-up for them.

It's criminal. I can make a phone call with a cocanut and few pieces of
copper wire and knowledge of Morse Code.

All it costs me is my time.  As valuable as my time is to me, even 9 cents
seems too much to hear a bunch of crap.

Well - that's a bit of a leap.  But in any case I think $20 a month is a tad steep.  Try $5.99 - that's what I was paying for the Coast stream at one time.

Ricky Gervais, Steve Merchant, and Karl Pilkington got rich on $1.39 an episode.  One a week, $5.99 per month, create a website and forum, maybe a little pin the tail on the noory gamepack for iphone, and everyones happy.

Hyperbole obviously doesn't play well to this crowd.  Maybe I should have said I'd pay 40-gazillion dollars a podcast.

Point is, I'd pay and I'd like it because it would be a product I would be enthusiastic about.  The price point would figure itself out and would undoubtedly be reasonable.

And as far as global poverty goes, much like the racism thread, whatever my opinion on the subject might be "in real life", I'm not touching any of it here with a 20-foot pole.  ;)

I'll bet you are HELLU fun at a party with that logic straight from the brain stem.  If your time is so valuable, Roger, why don't you price out your time by the word and save a ton of money by posting only the funny lines, like above in red.  Do you have a girlfriend 'cause I am thinking not because your time is too valuable to invest any on spec (if you get my drift).  But if you want to PM me your coconut number, well, I am in it for the fun....

Just a tip here - if you ever find yourself out of TP - do not - and I mean DO NOT grab the box of facial tissue with Vicks in it that you got when you had a cold.  Really, it's a bad idea.

Don't ask me how I know.  :o
