We'd often work on into the night, where Art Bell ruled the air and came in loud and clear on my little Case International radio.  It was awesome listening to some of that stuff while out in the middle of nowhere driving a tractor in the moonlight.

That brings back bittersweet memories of hauling hay as teen. working early mornings, taking afternoons off then working after dark to avoid the heat. the fields at night smelled of fresh cut grass, sky full of stars, hands full of blisters, back aching.all for five cents a bale. i remember now why i moved to the city.

Y'all talking about farming and hay baling etc. reminds me of my youth where I spent most summers working the family citrus groves and driving the 9N Ford tractor that I still have.

Never had to pick the citrus, but I had my hands full maintaining equipment and fertilizing 1300 acres of groves.

Now the grove is down to 50 acres and several subdivisions sit where I used to earn my summertime money. That's the story of Florida the past 20 years- mcmansions & subdivisions have popped up everywhere.

No Bruce Williams while on the tractor for me- It didn't have a radio.

Those would of been the best times ever listening to Art Bell in the middle of nowhere in the dark night. I bet it added to the ambience of the show. The 80s and 90s were the best times to be alive. This new age really isn't to cool.
