I found it kind of fun to listen to him... I pretty much think he's a blowhard but what the heck... If I am remembering correctly is that the interview where he talks about early rocket building and what a whiz kid he was? If that is the one its not ground breaking but its not a bad 2 hours.

I think you are thinking of David Adair. He wasn't bad. I have the 5 hour episode of Lear if you want it through email. I liked it.

You are probably right. Icould have easily mixed those stories up... thank you for the offer. I probably have it. I have about 5 HD's that have many old shows on them... just too lazy to install them.

i think so. he has had a couple where he talks about it. i had this episode full but thought audio anomalies would forever be up so i deleted it except one hour. (sadly mistaken). he's honestly one of my favorite guests. This new garbage makes me want to vomit. If only it was 1994.

Here's the show John Lear's Revelations from March 21, 2004 .

He's a good satirist, regardless of whether the CIA cuts him a check.

The moon was towed here.

In the Febuary 13th 2005 Coast appearance of John Lear, Art opens by crediting an earlier John Lear interview for giving him the idea to take his radio show in a different direction which eventually became the Coast to Coast we all know (or knew).
During that same show John gave Art a "mock" full disclosure breifing and after Art heard the contents when asked by John Lear if he would now tell the public ... Art said he would not.

While I was out of town last weekend I got the chance to check out the John Lear Revelations show. A few thoughts...

I was a bit surprised at how much ass licking he did for the Fantastic Forum, and how many shoutouts he gave to folks on the internet. It's like he took a flame war to a whole other level, responding to things on the radio rather than just blowing his hot air on the internet. Badboy was mentioned a few times in the interview as well, which gave me a chuckle.

Lear brought stuff up with no proof, offering no evidence and talking straight nonsense, and Art rolled over and let him get it all out there with minimal resistance. That was one of the worst parts of it, imo, was that Art clearly had past history with this guy so just let him vent his bullshit out over the airwaves and legitimized it with the fact that Lear's father accomplished something extraordinary and that John Lear wasn't selling anything (which changes nothing about his message).

My favorites were his hillariously laughable explanation of the "Gravity A and Gravity B" forces, the speed of time and gravity (oh God, he argued FOR the Newtonian picture... oh God) and the soul box on the moon, all of which were poorly explained, poorly thought out and had not a shred of supportive evidence. At one point he says "we did a calculation and showed that as the strength of Gravity A increases, the speed of time is proportional. Or it might be inversely proportional. I don't remember the exact details". Uhh... this "proves" Einstein wrong how?

To me he came off as a troll you might meet on a forum that would spout nonsense diahrrea about how great he is, how he is right and has exclusive claim to understanding the nature of reality and then has nothing to back it up. Except when you call this troll on it he would be given time on C2C to show you up on public radio.

Total unadulterated whackjob. I got nothing out of the interview except that "The son of the guy who invented X" doesn't hold any water, and doesn't mean he can't be crazy.

An example of one of the many things that Lear shot himself in the foot with: The moon was parked by an alien race into a circular tidally locked orbit around the Earth. How could that happen without intervention?

Tidal locking is a common feature of moons in the solar system: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidal_locking
Lear doesn't understand the physics of how this occurs, so why should i take his word on far more fundamental issues like gravity and time?

The moon doesn't follow a circular path, it obeys Kepler's laws and moves in an elliptical path around the Earth. How does Lear explain that at Perigee when the moon is closest to the Earth it appears larger than at Apogee when the moon is farthest from us?

The whole interview was filled with tiny throwaway statements like this that were easy to overlook because of Lear's seeming self confidence and personality. But when you really start carefully examining his claims none of his arguments actually hold water.

Lear is, of course, full of shit. But I enjoy listening to him in the same way that I enjoy reading sci-fi. This also applys to the other big-time bullshitters ie hoagland, quayle, icke etc. I like an outrageous story told with an almost-straight face, provided it's not harming anyone.

On the other hand, I would only buy a book from one of them if there were DEFINETELY no recreational drugs left in the universe.

its funny that a year or two after that interview John Lear was banned from most of those sites he used to frequent and plug, including the Fantastic Forum and Above Top Secret. He had some wacko 9-11 theories too.

Don't tell me he's one of those wacknuts that espouses the long discredited "Islamic terrorist" theory?  These types deserve a Gitmo waterboard vacation IMO.

Pshaw.

I caught a different show on the c2c stream in which he was significantly more subdued, and left out all of his "religious issues". But his credibility went completely down the pooper with the revelations interview.

Hey guys - I just put out a podcast about some of John Lear's claims.  In the episode, I specifically talk about Venus' atmosphere, the moon's supposed atmosphere, and how the moon got here.  I also talk about pareidolia.

Nutjob or not, I think the John Lear interviews are some of the most entertaining. I highly recommend listening to them. You might laugh all throughout, or get very spooked. Fun either way. :)

uumm... I have a certain fondness for both Icke and Lear, but in a 'crazy uncle' sort of way. You can't dismiss one in favour of the other.

Also, astroguy - I mean no disrespect here, but do you realise you're taking Lear more seriously than he himself does?
