If he does come back we will only get at most 3 years. Better save every program to listen to in our golden years.

I post the following because it is very rare Art responds to the endless requests and comments on his FB page, so this caught my eye. Ought to be good for another half page or so of speculation..

My only comment is that I really hope that Art did not pick those frilly curtains himself.  That is the only thing that makes me worry... it seems that if you are setting up a place to broadcast from you would have full choice in all of the furnishings (sort of like a home office.)  I don't know many guys who have a home office where they are expected to work and have window covering that seem to be picked out by their wives or daughters.

Still, hope spring eternal and I refuse to give up.  Perhaps the satin frills are just to throw us off the scent?

When the Saints Come Marchin' Home! Oh, Lord, I want to be in that number, when the saints come marching home!!!!!

Call me a cockeyed optimist, but this FB clip just tickles me pink!!!!

And yes, WOTR, I noticed those pink curtains, and they are awful!!!! LOL.  ;D

Art has kissed Limbaugh's ass for years and would do so again. Simply saying "agree" to some moonbat on Facebook is hardly the treatise to set forth the new Art Bell renaissance.

"Agreed."

This single-word comment, coupled with the radio room pics and the "stay tuned" announcements, should convince even the most ardent skeptics that SOMETHING is up involving Art's return to broadcasting in some form or fashion. My "guarded optimism" is rapidly transforming into "hopeful expectation". Still cautious, but in my mind, there can be no doubt. Of all the rooms in the house, he chose to show us the radio room. For my money, that seals the deal right there.

Also, I think that it is now without question that whatever form it may take, it will have nothing to do with Coast to Coast AM, Premiere Radio Networks, or Clear Channel. (Which is ok by me.) The impending one year date is looking more and more to me like a marker or sigil. Perhaps by, on or shortly after that date, we will once again hear the words, "From the high desert and the great American southwest, I bid you good morning, good evening, wherever you may be...."

Time to update the Wiki entry...

I believe those are the original curtains but I can't find a picture on the net to back that up and my copy of The Art of Talk is at my folks place. Regardless they are still horrible.

     Fool me once...

Pink Floyd will do a 50 city tour of the USA with Waters,Gilmour and Mason before Art comes back.

Frankly, there's just as good a chance that Syd Barrett and Rick Wright will be joining the tour as there is Art coming back.

Mr. Coyle, please refer to your adjedge, Absence of Evidence is not Evidence of Absense regarding Mr. Bell.  Please take heart and believe.

I have The Art of Talk right here, and the new curtains appear to be an updated version of the old ones, which were equally awful.  The picture is in black and white, so can't tell if the old ones were as ghastly a color or not.

What WAS Art thinking?!  :o

If they are new curtains then Art has terrible taste. They really aren't very modern. I'm not a fan of the wall color either.

Nine years of Art not being a full-time host is all the evidence I need to conclude that Art will remain on the sidelines.
Next year will be the tenth year of Art not being a full time host.

Eddie, I never said he would return full time. Just that he will return in some form.

As for that Floyd tour, why don't you add to the bill Rado Klose, Ron Geesin, Alan Parsons, Clare Tory, Stephane Grappelli, Snowy White, and Dick Parry?

(I was just happy to see Roger do The Wall....)

Art is dropping hints. I think even if he won't come back he's having a blast freaking out the Noory bunch.

Unfortunately, I agree.  Although I'd like to hear that voice live again, I'm not going to count on it.
(But I would like tickets to the tour.)
Anyway, even if he would start something up I'm afraid not even Art could live up to the memory after so long.
Maybe he's going to teach his daughter how to enjoy his hobby.
Or maybe HorrorReporter is right.  He's just having "a blast freaking out the Noory bunch."    :)

Honestly I don't expect a full time return, but I will be extremely happy with whatever venue/schedule he chooses. Art has an enormous fan base, one that I  don't think he would risk pissing off or alienating by constantly dangling the carrot. In previous retirements, he pretty much walked away, no string alongs. I too remain cautiously optimistic.

Also wanted to mention that I think Art's "agree" quote has more to do with Premiere/Noory's bastardization of his once well respected program and less to do with his alignment or lack thereof with Limbaugh/Beck's ideology.

That's the question, though, isn't it?  Everybody (Eddie excepted) wants to jump on the "Art is returning" train from a single word, but the FB'er makes two statements.  Is Art agreeing with the first, the second, or both?

Perhaps Ramona chose the original curtains and he got used to them night after night.  Now, putting the updated behind the clock that he would need to pay attention to reminds him a little of his past and ties everything in together?

I still maintain that if he wasn't planning on doing something, he wouldn't be teasing and dropping hints to a large audience he knows very well wants to hear that he's coming back in some form. Art may be capricious at times, but he's not cruel. And he said himself...things are going on in the background that will be discussed at the appropriate time. All I'm saying is that the appropriate time seems to be approaching.

Art's smart enough to avoid committing himself to something he doesn't really mean.  He meant both, IMO.

My thoughts, too, Morphia.

Sounds likely about the curtains, WOTR.

I wasn't going to say anything mean about that electric blue wall, but seeing as how I've got company, it really does look like something to facilitate an OBE.  ::)

I just checked smeter.net. It says that it will be offline for 2 weeks while they move the server from Salt Lake City to Newport Oregon. Wasn't the show run out of Medford Oregon back in the 90's? Methinks something is afoot. But NCIS is on so I have to go.
