I know that everybody has different tastes (heck, there are people who think that Noory does a bang-up job.)  Have you toured the Wells thread lately?  I am not certain that you would find much support for replacing Noory with Wells.

In my estimation Wells ranks just one half of one notch lower than Noory.  I would actually sooner listen to Noory than Wells (at least that is what I say tonight- I reserve to swap the positions of the above mentioned hosts without notice.)

I don't have any problem with George and listen to Him a lot. I just think He wind up being replaced as the main host on C2C within the next few years

Oh goodie, another balanced and thoughtful retort, which is perfectly "in kind" and in keeping with the context of the original.

I was busy attempting to piece together and decipher the response when I glanced at the response below it and realized that there is no real point in continuing to expend effort.  Thanks for the chuckle...

I used "homo" as a way of saying something stupid or not cool.  It wasn't a veiled attempt to hide my own sexual propensity...
cmon man chill... you obviously have some problem with this word and it's meaning to you subjectively.  I don't think anybody else on this forum thinks I have any issues with non-straight people... hows that ? non-straight? PC enough for you? sheeesh

You just said that I used homo because I DID care what people think of me online?? now I dont?and you're not getting into it but you JUST DID??  Apparently it's you acting like a child... you haven't posted in forever but you feel the need to jump in and bitch cause somebody used "homo" in reference to something that has nothing to do with sexual orientation.  Troll somewhere else please...

Somewhere in Time is still on.   ;D   So where's Art's "big" announcement?

Every day of silence from Art lets Hot Air Noory and his trusted sidekick Tommy sleep a little easier.  Remember that, Mr. Bell!

I didn't know a threat could assume a sexual orientation ;)

i wonder if the thread was born that way, or if it chose that lifestyle.

Years ago gay threads argued they were started that way from the instant of the first keystroke. But after reflection they were concerned that people would think that if that was so, it meant there was literally a genetic difference between gay threads and "normal" threads. And so, they feared, people might think that gay threads were almost an entirely different topic, much like the "mutants" of the X-Men comics "graphic novellas" and movies. So with help from GLAT, (Gay Lesbian Alliance of Threads), they began a widespread lobbying effort and have succeeded large part in changing the public's focus from the source of thread orientation to tolerance and multi-threadism.

It was tragically interfered with at an early age.

There have been dubious attempts at intervening to change the sexual orientation of certain threads, but this has mostly been written off as quackery.

This thread needs an intervention, as does the subject of the photo posted by the BobGrau.

Leverage. I suspect that all Art Bell was trying to get when he -- or someone else representing him -- wrote on his Facebook page that he will tell the "real" story of his "retirement." Note Mr. Bell has never followed up on that claim. I suspect it had something to do with his royalty checks for "Somewhere In Time."

Perhaps that ploy worked. I, for one, don't expect him to follow up on that claim. He perhaps got what he wanted. Mr. Bell is retired, has a real life away from talk radio and removed from "Coast." That won't change, As long as the residual payments keep coming in through direct deposit, he won't be that outspoken against "Coast" or George Noory. He knows better, I'm sure.

"West of the Rockies, you're on the air. Hello? Going once, going twice...Gone! Wild-card line, you're on the air..."

You get the point, all.

Whether Art is gone for now or gone for good - I could see him hosting something on the local Pahrump station KNYE that he used to own like he did with Ramona years ago - but I think it's obvious that his days as a nightly host of a nationally syndicated show are over for good.
In a way, it's too bad, because he could certainly resurrect the dwindling enterprise that C2C has become over the past several years, and it would be nice to be able to give those Noory fans a little perspective on how the show was and should've stayed. Then again, it's a good thing, because honestly who really gives a crap what those people think anyway. Just like the sequel never really tops the original, and just like a band's reunion is never as exciting as their first run, I'd prefer the life chapters that included my memories of the nightly ritual that was listening to Art - from 92 to 01 (minus the complete trainwreck that was Mike Siegel), and then his weekend and fill-in shows from 02 to 10 (minus the conspiracy and right wing buffoon Noory either became or always was), to remain closed.
And I always believed C2C died a long time ago anyway. Either on NYE of 00-01 when Art and Ramona signed off together, or a much slower death, when he left for the Philippines. As long as the dude is happy, I'm just thankful for the years of entertainment he gave me. Back when AM radio, actually radio in general, still meant something.
