I'm surprised no one here has posted this...or if they have, I didn't see it. Anyway, this was posted on the fantasticforum at some point in the last couple weeks...

Shirley died too? Didn't know that. Jonestown had a lower mortality rate than Fantastic Forum.

Certainly no biggie, but I announced her death just over a month ago - devoted a short separate thread to her here:

http://coastgab.com/index.php/topic,3249.msg73308.html#msg73308

Includes her obituary, and Snoory's on-air announcement as an mp3 attachment.

Dreamland Art Vs C2C Art, Imagine it if Whitley let Art step into the Dreamland webcast spot once or twice a month. There would be a big drop in radio listeners on C2C that nite as most of us would be logged onto our computers listening to Art. Even if Art is forbidden from talking to any C2C guests currently under the chokehold of the PCCN (Premier Communist Control Network) just the great stories he could share about the U.S. Air Force overseas in the Cold War would be a great show. I remember my uncle who was in the USAF on KC-135's telling stories of at least 6 RB-47 that went down over Russia/China area due to enemy fire. Crews that never returned and aircraft never recovered. Or his wonderful stories of the early days inthe High desert broadcasting from a hotel in downtown LV. And the big smile you can hear over the radio when he talks about his little girl. Any dad out their with a daughter can recognize that different style of talking in a second! ;D

This was already posted on the ART BELL thread, but he posted on his facebook today, "liver cancer, 3-6 months to live".

His page is awash with comments of every variety, but a lot of people are commenting that it's either a hacker/troll, or else that it's referring to Art's father in law. I haven't seen any further statement, correction, retraction or clarification, but for now at least the original post is still up...

https://www.facebook.com/art.bell.716/posts/405526096162182

Of course, I sincerely, truly, deeply hope it is not true, though of course, I wish the best to him--or if that's the case, his father in law--if it is.

Just saw this. I really hope this is not about Art.

NOT TRUE. Art's father-in-law has liver cancer, NOT ART.

In light of the "news" in the other Art Bell thread this thread may need to be renamed "Art Bell Fired from Coast". Just saying. :)

This latest Facebook message from Art is VERY interesting. It sounds like it could be his next book, but he's going to release it to the world soon:
"Art Bell
I am just about ready to tell the real story of my so called "Retirements" I have asked Premiere to stop the Saturday Broadcasts and thus far they have not done so as is there legal right. Free speech remains my right, I will soon exercise it."

But look at what he really said:
"just about" ready.... I will "soon" exercise it... we've heard these kinds of things before. Not that I'm complaining, but maybe we should take this with a grain of salt? Seems to me more of a threat to get a desired result.

On the other hand, Art may be ready to burn down some serious bridges.

I love Art, but the vague comments he makes for attention sometimes pisses me off heh.   Like the liver cancer thing, duh might want to include who it is.

I was on his Facebook last night and was goofing around and said "You probably don't wan't SIT aired because Hoaxland is so full of shit.."
Then I hit the wrong button and unfriended him, now I can't get back on.  ::)

Christ, Art, if you've got something to say, just say it already, quit jerking on the strings just to watch your sycophantic puppets jerk.

Sure makes me curious about what is going on behind the scenes, for AB to keep putting out these vague threats.

I think that is all he is doing.... is jerking the strings and watching the reaction.

Art may not be much interest in going back on the air, but he certainly enjoys the following he has. He loves to draw speculation about himself. Hard to fault him for that.

Art seems to love over the years since his retirements to post a short cryptic message on various forums or nowadays facebook.
Many of the fans then like religious zealots try to interpret the cryptic message over and over.
Remember Art's message years ago posted on an internet forum: "Mysterious and Reassuring" ?

Also, Jesus, couldn't you have just given a fucking date for your return?  Enough of this "soon" shit.

There's a phrase that fits this show now, except when Knapp is there... He who is all things to all people is nothing to everyone...

I think that the shows owners realized the show was a cash cow, even thought is was making certain people upset, so they brought in Noory to homogenize things, but keep raking in the dough....

SIT was still on last night (thank god).   Will Art post another cryptic message or will he "exercise it"?  ;D

I wonder if Art exercises it to this LOL:

Oh, I am now waiting... Tonight Wells opened by basically saying that Art is Coast and Coast is Art.  That he will always be a part of it weather he chooses to return to them or not.  Only knowing a little of this background did his meaning become truly clear: Fuck you, Art!

Not knowing this little bit of background it sounds like a really nice tribute to the founder of Coast.

I love when people choose to go this route.  Radio off again (truth be told, it would never have stayed on Wells for more than 10 minutes anyhow- he makes my skin crawl.)

He's carefully massaging the public to get ready for the grand opening of his cat grooming store on Elm Street, Pahrump.

what was that crap about "ya know we all knew about UFO's back when Art was host... blah blah blah"

I always loved Art's cat stories... shows his softer side

shortly before Art "retired" he hosted richard hoagland on the show about bees or something. They had a few minutes conversation off the topic and those few minutes were erased from the official C2C archive. Maybe that is the key.

How long before Art breaks the big secret that Noory is a Lebanese transgendered goat boy?

Okay, I suppose saying that there is "chance of (A)rt coming back" is, while not really what we'd call likely, technically within the realm of imagination. So saying that there's a chance of Art coming back is the equivalent of saying there's "a chance" John Goodman will be named the spokesman for Weight Watchers: conceivable, but in reality next to impossible.

I agree with this totally and completely. I dont hate George Noory AT ALL, he's just too nice for me to hate - but this is what makes him a shitty host. He tries to be everything to everyone. He's unopinionated, too friendly to ask "juicy" questions... Basically he is safe. I dont think hes a bad person, he just isnt cut out for this.

I don't hate Noory... he just DISGUSTS me.  His "homo"-genization has most Art fans facepalming through the whole show if they dare to tune in.  He's not a host to me he's more like a piece of furniture thats just there for the guest to sit on.  Except George is the squeaky chair that keeps interrupting with needless noise.
