Thanks!!! I am really good friends with Lynn, the drummer from meat beat. We have a band sort of. We mostly smoke reefer and miss rehearsal. And then play Robin Trower covers for hours, when we do get together. I love it!

Really though, we are writing music together for an EP that will come out soon. My wife and I were in a band together that was signed to warner's once upon a time, called Snake River Conspiracy (she was the lead singer, I played lead guitar). I really feel that those two sounds, MBM and SRC will cross pollinate well in this one big thing. Kind of like a fucked up Fleetwood Mac on acid... IF FRANK ZAPPA was managing and Peter Green never left the band.

Guild, you fucking rule.  Guys like you are everything I love about music and real musicians - the love of a broad range of styles, an appreciation of the history of rock, geeking out about equipment, the whole deal.  I remember your band, you did a great cover of How Soon is Now (I take it that is your wife singing) by my beloved Smiths.  After seeing your Dio posts the other day I had to pull out Holy Diver (which is now one of my teenage sons favorite albums!) for a walk down memory lane. If you ever succeed in crossing Albatross vintage Mac with Dinah-moe Humm, I want a copy.

If you ever find yourself in Texas, you drink for free.

Holy shit! Yeah that was SRC alright. When my wife met Morrissey after the SRC cover of that song came out, he was the most gracious person. He complimented the cover in an interview in rolling stone and said all kinds of nice stuff. She was a huge fan of the smiths so it was really cool of him.

Thank you so much for the compliments! That band SRC ended real ugly. I had all of my guitars/recording equipment/other instruments stolen by the bassist/producer of SRC when I quit... and so I stopped playing music for about 5 years and sold cannabis instead. It really killed me to look at instruments during that time period. However, I did meet my wife in that band and I've been happily married for 6 years. So there's always a good side.

When I finally got back into recording and engineering/guitar work, I found out that the scumbag who screwed me over has also screwed a lot of other people in that industry I used to work with as well. It took them a bit longer to come around for whatever reason. But I started real young, got burned, and I'm back for revenge!!!

I love cheeseburgers.

We should start a "Whats for Dinner" thread with photos.

watching a super lefty documentary on free speech tv about global warming. an uber liberal just said that we'd run out of oxygen to burn before we ran out of fossil fuels

while I'm concerned about global warming I still look at some of these claims and think "oh that's why the Right hates environmentalists". everything is super dire. everything is super grim. but this is the same stuff Alvin Toffler was selling back in the '70s

whoa guildnav I'm semi familiar with some of yer stuff...I remember Snake River... that was a while ago I think I heard em on some compilation back in the day... my band's bassist at the time was all about you guys... she loved chick vocals over heavy guitars.
