Did any of you X-Files fans watch Chris Carter's sister show "Millennium"? And if you did, how did it compare to TXF? I enjoyed "X-Files" for the stories and characters, but preferred "Millennium" for its somber feel. It only aired for three seasons, which was a shame in some ways, as the show's overall mood would probably play better in today's world than it did circa 2000. The three seasons were very different due to turnover behind-the-scenes. Season 1 was masterful television IMO, though dubbed "serial killer of the week" by its detractors. Season 2 brought Morgan and Wong from X-Files on board, which had the double impact of spinning the series in a conspiracy direction (something "X-Files" did wonderfully, and unnecessary in "Millennium"), and adding one of their spouses (Kristen Cloke) as a major character. She may have been good in other roles, but was dreadful in "Millennium". Season 3 continued the trend, much to the show's peril, IMO, but many enjoyed the new direction more than season 1.
The classic intro theme by Mark Snow:
... Mark Snow inspired by Kylie Minogue? (first 30 seconds - likely coincidence, but it was discussed at the time):
One of my favorite opening sequences:
And if you did watch the series, who can forget the haunting final moments of the series finale, tracked by Zager and Evans:
