The next live broadcast of Michael Vandeven's Radio TrainWreck will be Monday, December 20th at 7PM US Central Time.  Visit UFOShip.com to listen live or to download the show after it airs.  It would be a pleasure to have you in the chat room, as well.

How does one join the chat room? Pretend you are talking to a 5 year old with your explanation.

i got this idea from curtis thornton, and i plan to follow through on it.

i want to do a "mystery science theater" style broadcast of a live george noory show on the stream.  wtf is "mystery science theater," you ask?  well, for the few who don't know, see the embedded video below.

i want to stream a live george noory broadcast and do play-by-play (MST3K style) as the show rolls on for the whole 4 hours.  i think this could be big fun... or an epic disaster... and i want all of you to join in.

i think i'll be rolling solo with my demeaning real-time comments during george's segments, and then bringing you guys on to talk during his breaks.  what do you all think?  would you be interested in participating in such a broadcast by calling in on skype or on the phone?  perhaps we could fill the first hour of the broadcast by bringing all of you on (perhaps at the same time, if you can imagine that) to verbalize your george noory complaints.  the recording of this show will, of course, be around forever and will go down in history (at least among our crowd).  the bottom line is, this is going to happen.  i just want to know if you guys would be interested in participating.  if i'm aware that you guys are interested, it will make the whole thing happen that much sooner... and with even greater enthusiasm.  let me know in this thread.

cheers.

I cannot wait for this to happen.  I really hope a lot of people get in on this because the more interaction during the breaks the better it will be.  If just 10% of the magic of all the members of this forum called in we could have internet radio gold!  The best part is it would be born of this unique community.  We will need to hit up twitter as much as we can during the show with the hashtag #nooryspoof

MST3K is pretty funny but when the movies are really bad - like "Spring Fever" - it can get old really fast

looking forward to C2C3K

It sounds like a great idea.

I think it will be hard, though! In MST3K, they had a small team of people watch the movies several times over and plan out the best jokes.

It will be tough to come up with enough material if you roll through it live.

you are right on every point.  however, i don't really mean to suggest i am going to put on a comedic extravaganza or anything.  i'm not talented or funny enough to pull that off.  i'm just going to play the show and complain about things in real time as they happen.

i'm a great complainer.

by the way...
i'm having a hard time figuring out when i'm going to do this.  since c2c goes all night long, the only opportunity i'd have to do this would be a saturday night.  m-f i'm at the office at 9am, and sat 11am.  i need my sleep.

does snoory ever host on saturdays?

i think it would be much more fun to do a Mad Movies version of C2C with clips of GN's voice, but have inserted as guest(s) yourself or anyone else that would love to say a few things to GN's style or lack of interviewing. From what i've read on this forum, you have an unlimited number of people that could script, record and help with the overall production. Play it on Halloween.
A parody of a parody if you will, set on a night when anything goes.  8)

The George Noory simulcast will be happening tonight.  It will start at 11PM Central Time, one hour before the start of live C2C.  To listen, just tune in the CoastGab stream here.  Join us in the chatroom here.  Purchase yellowcake uranium here.  Just kidding.

To call in during the live show, Skype me.  My username is michaelvandeven illusiontransfusion.

For more information on exactly what will be happening tonight, see the following:

Yeah!  Cool, I'll be listening.  I don't have a microphone to skype with... sad.
Any chance of a live call in phone number like you have done in the past on the podcast?

screw this because if i let that number expire, i have to have my liner guy record new liners which is a huge, long, drawn out process.

i went ahead and bought the number again, so tonight you can call the show at 573-837-4948 if you prefer not to use skype.  also, if you DO want to use skype, please contact me at username illusiontransfusion.  earlier i asked you guys to place your skype calls to username michaelvandeven which is no longer accurate.

i just tuned in for the night and there is this foul mouthed schmuck blathering on the stream??  it sounds live?  talking about trump etc??  he might have been saying something about why it wasnt the usual art bell stuff at first, not sure cause i just heard the end of whatever he was saying. now mind you i am NOT complaining and have no right to complaint and make demands about something that is a FREE GIFT to me.   but just wondering what is going on with this guy?  i will keep listening and see if i can learn something as the night goes on... but this guy is so far REALLY really hard for me to listen to.  he sounds like a pretty loud mouthed, foul mouthed glen beck or something.... what's going on??

well then.  a satisfied customer.

I can see why Michael couldn't stick it out.  The guest was terrible and Noory was so boring it didn't even border on funny.

However, I had good fun in the chat area.  Does that happen more often?  It was nice to talk to people and make snarky comments in a less "formal" and permanent form like posting.
