Do you honestly believe this is a statement about Obama supporters, and not a more general statement about the pitiful state of US citizen's awareness of our own system?

I can't deny that Obama had - and has - huge emotional appeal to many, which is not a good criteria for electing any official , let alone a president. But the hypnotically emotional approach worked because of who we are - who we ALL are, to one degree or another. Bush road exactly the same kind of wave as he convinced us to give up a number of our rights and freedoms post 9/11 (and no, before you ask, I'm not one who believes he or his puppet masters planned that in advance. I do believe, however, that they were happy to take advantage of it once it had occurred.)

I think there is still time to find out if Obama is a true leader, or merely a political "rock-star."

Both, actually. Many Americans are horribly uneducated and complacent these days, sure, but what's worse is they're brainwashed by the media. In either case, Obama tends to attract that very crowd. The fact of the matter was, they didn't know WHAT they were voting for or supporting. And most of the people who supported McCain were just anti-socialist conservatives who didn't want Obama to get in office. I feel like the downward spiral started long before Obama. If the tea parties made some people feel better about themselves, great. That's what free speech is. Enjoy. My Dad got robbed at the Casino the other night by a group of illegals, but he (like my Dad would) chased the fuckers down and took what they stole back. It was about 200 bucks worth of merchandise. They also stole our lawn mower last year and pawned it at a local shop. Mother fuckers sleep in our lawn on their lunch brerak sometimes, and I have to run outside and yell 'NO SIESTA!". They suck ass for the most part, and no one wants to fix it. Not even the "conservatives".

I'm not sure what the gun laws here are exactly. I do know, however, it's incredibly easy to get a gun. We have gun shows almost year round. As far as conceal carry, I think you have to have a license...I might be wrong though, you may just need one to brandish your firearm. I only own bb soft gun replicas for target practice, aside from a .44 that belongs to my father and I never have loaded anyways. More of something just to have around. Nice gun, but I haven't shot it since I was 7 or 8.

Wanted to say that I am sure he knew what he was doing and would not "go to a knife fight unless he had a gun" (those that know know) for people who cannot defend themselves or do not know how, then giving up your things are fine it still does not mean you will not be harmed if you do give them up, that depends on the mind of the criminal, time, and place. That about the best advice anyone could give on the matter, yup. That line was basically what got Joe Horn off. You know, the whole "He was coming right for me!" defense. Honestly, I don't think that illegal alien guy was rushing at Joe Horn when he shot him...but given the circumstances, and the perp's records that he shot - that defense was enough to get him off. The guys were known scum, and Horn was a known law abiding citizen and overall good neighbor.

Between you and me though, I don't much care if the guy was going to attack Joe Horn or not. I like to think what Joe did could be viewed as a civic service.

Lars is a way overrated drummer. I write and play enough drums to tell. He does double bass kicks every now and then, but they're always rather easy (aka, no machine gunning or crazy change ups)..most of his riffs are like 1/4ths timing. He hasn't played anything physically strenuous on drums since the Kill 'em All and Ride the Lightning albums...(with the exception of Master of Puppet's 'Disposable Heroes" and one song on 'And Justice for All", both of which weren't singles and were rarely ever, if at all, played live).

Also, I'm not that surprised Iranians love Metallica. Pretty much everyone does. At least the 80's albums. lol. Japan and South American countries have a load of spinoff bands that attempt to emulate Metallica's distinct sound without much success.

All I know is, they should have kept Dave Mustaine. He's a thrash metal God. Great guitarist.
